Types of Timber
Although there are thousands of varieties of trees around the world that produce a huge range of timber for us to work with, here are the most popular types that we use in our workshop.
The terms 'hardwood' and 'softwood' are frequently used when referring to the qualities of different timber but this can be misleading as some softwoods can be quite hard whereas some hardwoods are actually softer than softwoods! So it is always best to seek advice when trying to decide on the most suitable timber to use when designing and creating your products.
If you are interested in using a timber that is not shown below, we are likely to be able to source it and can discuss your particular requirements on an individual basis so please give us a call.
